Hair,Brunch,and Books

This morning I got up and I had no idea that I was going to get a haircut. I went upstairs and my mom told me that I was going to get a haircut with her. I was happy that I was going to have just mommy time, no brother, no dad – just me and my mom!
We walked to the salon and the whole time we walked, even on the way back, it was dripping water – some people like to call it ‘rain’. I got my hair trimmed. I got hot chocolate. My mom got her eyebrows waxed, and after that we went to Aphrodite’s – a small cafe with yummy pie. I got raspberry rhubarb. Everything was organic – meaning natural, not processed. Organic food is healthier than processed food. While we were there, we added up how much everything would cost, including tip and tax. We guessed $45, and it was actually $44.70! I thought our answer was pretty close and that my mom and I are mathematicians.
After that, we went to Banyan books, a nice bookstore with leather journals that I like to write in. While I was in there, I started looking at the journals, and mom was looking at an interesting notebook which was all about ‘walls’. I thought it was ok, but not my favourite. I wanted one of the leather ones but I already have two of them, and I have a gift certificate (which I got for my birthday which is $25 for Banyan Books) and we decided we wouldn’t buy one of them right now but instead we would go back and look at the ones at home and if we didn’t have one like the one that I wanted, we would take the gift certificate and go back and buy it.
After this day with my mom, I decided to create a new goal – “to have mommy-time once a week”. And that’s the story of my hair, brunch, and books.
